![]() ![]() Anydvd uses the online protection database, aka opd, to retrieve title keys for known titles for decryption.Īnydvd in combination with libredrive. This data, as mentioned already, is aacs encrypted and requires a title key to decrypt. Once authenticated they are able to bus decrypt the data coming back from the drive. Friendly drives work by using an aacs 1.0 certificate to authenticate with the drive in the same way they do for regular bluray. So no.Īnydvd works as coopervid said with friendly drives, which official drives like the pioneer are not. If it didn't have a key to decrypt it, it would generate a dump and the title wouldn't play at all. The assertion someone made earlier in this thread about makemkv not being able to decrypt tenet is nonsense. Makemkv has their own online key store that gets downloaded automatically when you scan a disc. The second thing libredrive does is disable the mkb revocation list.īecause the data being sent from the drive is still aacs encrypted, you need a title key to decrypt it. That data is still aacs encrypted, however. This stops the drive from encrypting the data being sent to the pc. Makemkv by itself uses libredrive to do a few things. The integration with AnyDVD for the busdecryption works with the free beta key and you don't have to purchase a makemkv licence. There is a possibility of integration Makemkv in the VLC player but then you need to purchase a Makemkv licence. And you can rip to ISO what can only be done using additional software with Makemkv. The big advantage of AnyDVD is that the disc appears to be completely unencrypted to all media players. Now AnyDVD can decrypt the data on the disc. ![]() Therefore AnyDVD will call the command line version of Makemkv and through that the busencryption between the drive and the computer is disabled. Now Makemkv has implemented a method to break the busencryption not only for LG "friendly drives" but also for LG "official drives" and "Pioneer drives". If this resolved AnyDVD and Makemkv have their own different method to decrypt the disc itself. AnyDVD can only access so called "friendly drives" (LG / ASUS) by aflaw in the firmware and uses a "backdoor" bypassing the busencryption which is an encrypted communication between the drive and the computer. Sorry for the long post I just hate seeing people who have an instinct to help but who choose instead to say "I won't help you, go and do it yourself".Click to expand. You need to know that there are several layers on encryption. Your second reply was incredibly helpful and really cleared things up for me - if you're fed up with people asking the same question, maybe the way to look at it is "there's something systemic that stops people being able to easily find this information - I will help them find it". It would be so much easier to provide a link - or, in your case, to simply say "hi - I've got a link to the latest key in my sig if it's not updated, you might need to wait a few days". I can find no way, apart from buying it (which I can't afford to do at this point, but will be happy to do at some point), to do what people are saying "do a search!" to do. After wading through a lot of "do a search!" repies, all I can find is an expired beta key. Well, I'm clever, and I cannot find a way to get my beta working. When someone says "you should've searched", they're actually saying "why aren't you clever enough to do what I easily do?" A lot of people really don't know how to find the information they need, a lot of people don't know how to use the information they get. ![]() I know you mean well, but ultimately the "let me google that for you"-type response is sarcastic and judgemental, and doesn't take into account the fact that people have vastly different abilities and experience. Secondly, when you do a search for "expired", a massive number of results come back with the same sort of hostile "do a search", "everyone has asked this before" etc. I registered just to say, this kind of response ends up being pretty hostile, even though you meant well.įirstly, the word "key" is ignored when doing searches - so you are telling people to do a search that does not even return the results you're talking about. ![]()
